Get #Courtlaughing as headliners are revealed

The Courtyard held a launch party for their 2013 #Courtlaughing Comedy festival (sponsored by Wye Valley Brewery) on Thursday 7 March at Wye Valley Brewery in Stoke Lacy. 

The launch saw staff at The Courtyard reveal this year’s festival headliners to press and invited guests local to Hereford. The festival is taking place from Friday 7 June until Sunday 9 and each night will see a big name comedian take to the stage.
 
On the Friday night, comedy veteran and Never Mind the Buzzcocks star Phill Jupitus will bring his new show, You’re Probably Wondering Why I Asked You Here to The Courtyard.  American ironist and no stranger to The Courtyard, Rich Hall takes the main spot on Saturday evening and emerging young comedian Josh Widdicombe will bring the festival to a close on Sunday evening.

Tickets for the headliners are available to book next week on the following dates: Phill Jupitus will be on sale on Tuesday 12^th March, Rich Hall tickets will be on sale on Wednesday 13^th March and Josh Widdicombe will be on sale on Thursday 14^th March; all from 11am.

Wye Valley Brewery revives a landmark Hereford pub

Wye Valley Brewery has recently acquired The Vaga Tavern, in Hereford, bringing its estate to six pubs in total.

The Vaga Tavern is a pub with a great heritage as the centre of community activity, however in recent years it had lost some former glory. New owners Wye Valley Brewery together with licensees Ben and Becky Andrews at the helm, its fortunes are set to change.

Said Vernon Amor Managing Director of Wye Valley Brewery: ‘At Wye Valley Brewery we are passionate about pubs. At a time when more and more people are drinking cheap supermarket-bought alcohol we still sell 95% of our beer in pubs and continue to invest in them.  We are delighted to be working together with Ben and Becky to give this cracking Hereford community pub a new lease of life.’

20 years at Wye Valley Brewery for Dave

Our Transport Manager Dave Napper has just celebrated 20 years service at Wye Valley Brewery. He was delighted with his personalised golf putter and a huge cake, which he kindly shared with the staff at the brewery!

Wye Valley Brewery teams up with Arts Alive

Arts Alive and Flicks in the Sticks programme live professional events and big screen films all over Shropshire and Herefordshire. Last year over 42,000 people enjoyed over 700 films and over 100 live performances in 90 local community venues, all hosted by local people. 

Wye Valley Brewery has produced brand new beer mats in partnership with Arts Alive and Flicks in the Sticks to promote their on-going work in the community. As well as being issued to performance venues throughout Herefordshire and Shropshire, the beer mats will also be distributed by the brewery to pubs within the area, to ensure increased exposure.
